I take it you're familiar with Gerald Brom? Looks like some influence, glorious works. Beatuful blending of Bros. Quay animation mood, and Brom paintings. least that's what I see. GREAT!

Wow. Reminds me of the emotion fo a Rockwell painting for some reason, or the pied piper because of the posture; like the figure is stooping to whisper a secret, or offer candy to a small child. I'm featuring this on my "22 + 7 Must See Deviations Edition VIII" journal, alongside 28 other deviations. Please swing by and support the other artists.

I don't even know where to begin.
I love the entire feel of this piece. I love how my eye is drawn top down, and up again so I can look at it some more. The whole thing looks like a painting (wonderful textures) and the tonal values bring to mind da Vinci's sketches. The figure's pose is awkward, contrived, and so very intriguing. I have to fave this, just so I can go back to it and (gawk) look at it again and again...

Thanks, it's just careful texturing, the key is not to overdo it and make it too "thick" so it will not cover the pic too much.

what kind of textures are used though? I'm just not really seeing what kind of elements it is made up of. You don't have to give away your secrets or anything, I was just curious.

well I usually make my own textures by scratching metal, burning stuff, staining paper etc. you just have to be imaginative with it and combine things.

A work that let's me think of Botticelli's "Venus" (Aphrodite).
I guess.. if both figures would be combined, it would look very interesting.*smile*
Well connected, good colours and layer-use. ;)
*thumb up*
I like the expression it gives.

I like the colors you used, and the fresco-like feel to it. Also the artistic touch with the paintbrush at the end of the knife. In all, very open to interpretation. Good work.

It's also on abnormis.com , hm? I like it. Its calm, but powerful...like a dream...feels and looks like a spiderweb which glistening in the sun....and...oh well...I should go to bed.
Pose is the same like "my dear old friend" isn't it?
...All i can say: Very touching piece !
